Can I mount the SS04F Seismic Switch on a wall?

The SS04F is engineered to detect movement across all axes, encompassing both vertical and horizontal directions. It’s noteworthy that this capability exceeds the requirements of the ASME 17.1 Elevator code, which mandates detection of solely vertical movement. Although mounting the SS04F seismic switch on a wall meets the code’s technical demands, we advise against this type of installation. The way the switch interprets seismic data, optimizing its performance in its designated orientation, mounted horizontally. To ensure the SS04F operates at its highest potential, we suggest following our recommended installation methods.
